1st Golf Tourism Conclave & Tournament

Golfing in India has a long history, going back to 1829, when the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, the oldest golf club in the world, outside of great Britain was formed. The Royal as it is popularly known, crowns a highly underrated landscape that offers a stimulating mix of colonial heritage, breathtaking locales and challenging modern day designs. Golf is a growing sport in India and India has the strength to provide round the year tourism to the world. Golf Tourism is at the nascent stage and needs to be promoted with great intensity across the globe. Golf attracts affluent, high‐value‐adding tourists who generate significantly above‐average per capita revenues for the destinations they are frequent. In order to promote Golf Tourism in India, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry is organizing one such programme “PHD Golf Tourism Conclave and Tournament” on 24th – 25th February, 2017 at Oxford Golf Resort , Pune. The conference will be held on February 24th, 2017 at Oxford Golf Resort and the Golf Tournament will take place on February, 25th, 2017 at Oxford Golf Course. The purpose of this Conclave and Tournament is to provide a platform for open house discussion between Governments
(Central and States) and private sector investors regarding issues and opportunities affecting investment in golf tourism sector in India as well as to improve the existing infrastructure and give boost to Golf Tourism in India. This will certainly add to the increase in foreign exchange once India is also listed in the world class Golf Tourist destination. The tournament will be an ideal opportunity to experience the game first hand on an international golf course.
